In the end of March 2016, the second mission of the ‘Narratives of Water’ project was accomplished. Professor Joanne Garde-Hansen was in Brazil for the second round of workshops and meetings aiming to elaborate a cooperative research project to be submitted to the regular funding lines of FAPESP and a UK funding agency. Joanne delivered a seminar about memory and narratives of flood and drought risk for two separate audiences: postgraduate students and academics interested on the subjects of decision-making for drought risk management and digital hydro-citizenship in Brazil, in the Postgraduate Programmes in Communication and Science Education at Unesp – São Paulo State University in Bauru (São Paulo State, Brazil) and at UFSCar – Federal University of São Carlos (São Carlos, São Paulo State, Brazil).

In Bauru, productive contacts were made with Professor Maria Teresa Miceli Kerbauy and Professor Ana Maria de Andrade Caldeira (Unesp) and Dr. Fernanda da Rocha Brando (USP); in São Carlos, with Dr. Thales Haddad Novaes de Andrade, Marcelo Coutinho Vargas, Ariadne Chloe Mary Furnival and Eduardo Garuti Noronha (UFSCar).
